Vision Statement

York Alliance Church is seeking to be an outreach based church committed to exalting Christ and loving people by becoming disciples who make disciples.

In all of this, prayer is the first work.

Many opportunities are afforded York Alliance Church to carry out the vision God has given. Each week the congregation gathers in Sunday celebration service and in Life Groups to worship, to serve, and to be equipped. We are all called to be a part of all three!

How do we live out the vision during our weekly gatherings?

Exaltation (worshipers): Everyone comes to "bring an offering and come before Him" (I Chronicles 16:29). There are few acts of worship more pleasing to God than having a heart that is glad and eager to be in God's presence (Psalm 27:4; 122:1). It is important that we all come, that we all come together, that we all come together bringing an offering into God's presence.

Edification (servants): Everyone comes to build up and encourage one another. Since we all have spiritual gifts if we belong to Christ (I Corinthians 12:7), it is important that we seek ways to utilize those gifts. There are all kinds of ministries available as opportunities to do just that. In order for the whole body of Christ to be served, it is important that every member serve (Ephesians 4:16)!

Equipping (ministers): Everyone comes to be equipped for ministry through the study of the Word of God (II Timothy 2:15). Stated simply - everyone is involved in a Biblical education class. The church is always called to be people of the Word. We can never know it enough; we can never live it enough.
