SGCompanion Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 30, 2026

SGCompanion is an internal ministry technology integration operated by York Alliance Family of Churches for Spring Grove Alliance Church.

SGCompanion connects Bitfocus Companion with an authorized YouTube channel through Google's OAuth 2.0 authorization system and the YouTube Data API.

Information and permissions accessed

SGCompanion may access information and functionality made available through the YouTube API for the Google account and YouTube channel that an authorized user chooses to connect.

The application currently requests the YouTube OAuth permission identified by Google as:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.force-ssl

This permission allows the application to view and manage authorized YouTube account information and YouTube content as necessary to provide the application's control and YouTube Live functionality.

SGCompanion does not request, collect, or store a user's Google password.

How information is used

Google and YouTube account access is used only to provide authorized YouTube and YouTube Live functionality through the church's Bitfocus Companion system.

SGCompanion does not use Google or YouTube user data for advertising, marketing profiles, data brokerage, or unrelated analytics.

Google or YouTube user data obtained through the API is not sold.

Storage and security

OAuth authorization credentials required for the integration may be stored on the church-controlled computer running Bitfocus Companion so that the system can maintain authorized access to the YouTube API without requiring the user to sign in for every use.

Access to the Companion system and its configuration is limited to authorized church personnel.

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect authorization credentials and information accessible through the integration.

Sharing of information

SGCompanion does not provide Google or YouTube user data to unaffiliated third parties for advertising, marketing, or sale.

Information may be processed by Google and YouTube as part of providing their OAuth and YouTube API services and may otherwise be disclosed when required by applicable law.

Revoking access and deletion

Users may revoke SGCompanion's access to their Google account through their Google Account security and third-party access settings.

An authorized user may also request removal of stored authorization credentials or other Google/YouTube user data associated with SGCompanion by contacting:

Requests to delete applicable user data will be handled as promptly as reasonably possible and in accordance with applicable Google and YouTube API requirements.

Google and YouTube

SGCompanion's use of information received from Google APIs will comply with applicable Google API Services User Data policies and YouTube API Services policies.

Use of YouTube services is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if SGCompanion's functionality, Google API access, or data-handling practices change. The current version will be published at this location.
