Welcome to York Alliance Church!

York Alliance is a group of people who are learning what it means to be embraced by the grace of God. This means that we constantly focus our hearts on the gospel message - that Jesus lived the life that we couldn't live and then died the death that we should have died i norder for us to come to Him. This is the truth that unites us all: rich and poor, young and old, every ethnicity, background, and social status. At York Alliance, you don't have to live up to a certain "bar" to be accepted and have a place. You'll find that we're a group of people on a journey with God together, and that although we're all at different spots on the journey, we're called to love and serve one another and the world around us through Him.

Every church has a particular "DNA", or way that they live out God's call for the church. At YAC, we are convinced that the church is not a building, but rather a group of people called together by a common mission. Although we believe that we're called to minister to people at every station of life, you won't find ministries targeted towards young adults, young married couples, parents of teens, "empty nesters", or senior saints. Rather, we believe the most effective way for us to be connected, care about one another, and carry out the mission that we've been called to is through the "two-winged" church:
  • The Celebration wing is our Sunday morning gathering. Each week, we gather together as a community of faith to glorify Jesus and to remind each other of the truth of the Gospel. This time includes singing, reading, listening, giving, learning, serving, and praying, all unapologetically based in the Word of God.
  • The Cell wing is made up of smaller groups (called "LIFE" groups) that meet each week at various times outside of the church building. These communities are largely intergenerational. They exist to build up and encourage believers and to help others to know and love Jesus as well. In short, they help us to love the things that God loves.
I hope this gives you a "snapshot" of York Alliance Church's vision and ministry. Please, visit us and introduce yourself either to me, to one of our staff, or to one of our many LIFE group leaders or coaches. We would love to meet you!

I pray that you will find in York Alliance Church a community of people who love what God loves and helps you to do the same.

Grace and peace,

Pastor Brian Kannel
