Beginning as early as Genesis 1 the Bible is clear that God has made us to work. While the nature of work has been impacted by sin, work itself is part of God's good plan for humanity. The church can, at times, mistakenly elevate the vocations of pastor or missionary above those of an engineer or teacher or stay-at-home parent, but the Bible makes no such distinction. What does it mean for us all to do the work we've been called to do for the glory of God? This class will include an extended Q&R time.
Whether you have walked with Jesus days or decades, the challenge for us all is to go deeper still. Learning to communicate with God through His revealed Word is one of the pathways to deeper life with Jesus. This Crossroads class will offer practical ways to keep our hearts well-lit with Spirit-life and longing for Jesus.
Every other month we gather in order to create space to encounter Jesus, expecting to meet with Him. During this month's gathering we will also have a short teaching on Paul's words from 1 Corinthians 14:1-3 as we seek to "earnestly desire" to hear the prophetic voice of God for one another and for the world around us. We expect that God will build up, encourage, and console His people in line with His Word. Please note: This event will be held in the Student Center.
Within the Christian & Missionary Alliance, the "Fourfold Gospel," or Jesus as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King, is a foundational truth. You've heard "Be with Jesus, Become like Jesus, and Do the things Jesus did” as our definition of a disciple. Are things like this just catchy sayings, or do they all fit together into the context of a biblical framework? This class will give you a fresh perspective of the historical, theological and practical heartbeat of York Alliance, helping you to put the pieces together.
